Windows 8 will Revitalise PC Gaming

Microsoft are planning to get behind gamers and give them what they want with a little help from windows upcoming operating system Windows 8. A source told TechRadar that Windows 8 will represent a real new push into PC gaming and gaming will be a key component for the whole OS.

Microsoft seems to have been left in the shadows in terms of gaming, and if they do manage to pull it off with Windows 8 they will mainly have Steam to compete with. But it will take a lot to beat Steam, they offer digital downloads; great customer support; a wide range of games and secure gaming servers.

It doesn’t take a genius to see that Steam is doing well. This Christmas holiday they are offering hundreds of deals and discounts up to 95% off on a wide choice of games. Some may say that the PC gaming generation is fading away with all of the competition from consoles like the PS3 and Xbox. But the PC still keeps a large and very profitable stake in the MMO market.

Last month saw the new World of Warcraft expansion, Cataclysm break the record for the ‘fastest selling pc game of all time’. And considering it’s been going for just over six years I’d say it’s done pretty well for its self.
