Sony PlayStation Phone PSP Z1 with Android Gingerbird Revealed

The playstation Sony has been getting a lot of hype for sometime and some new pictures of the phone with the yet to be released Android 2.3 Gingerbird has been released. The Sony PSP Z1 smartphone is set to change the gaming experience on Android based devices, and the new photos and videos suggests that it expects release soon.

The playstation phone is named Zeus and features a 4.3-inch touch screen, runs Google Android 2.3 Gingerbird. The unique feature of this device is the playstation like control pad which lets users to get a fully immersive expereince, especially for 3D gaming which is supported by the Gingerbird OS. This could mean a complete shift in the smartphone gaming industry.

The hardware of this phone is more powerful than the current generation PSP as it features a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, dedicated graphics and much higher screen resolution. The operating system is also capable of OpenGL ES 2.0 bringing true 3D games capability.

However the biggest limitation would be battery life as the 3D games tends to eat a lot of battery power. This could mean less than a day battery life for your device which is not practicle. The PSP Z1 expects release early next year with possibly a few games tiles to support it. The following video demonstrates the device.
