First they told us that Portal 2 would be released in February, and then it was scheduled for autumn this year. Now Valve are telling us that it will be released on the 18th April 2011. The game being pushed back 2 months is now ‘’the shortest delay in Valve history’’. But since Valve are no strangers to game delays it probably won’t come as a shock to most of the PC community.
Portal 2 is the sequel to the highly acclaimed game of 2007 which won over 30 game of the year awards. Portal 1 was also released on PS3 and X-Box but was a huge disappointment of the console. Valve promises that console gamers with receive the same experience as pc gamers and they will also receive steam support. See Portal 2 Trailer Videos here.
Next year marks a pretty important year for valve. With Portal 2, Half-life 3 and maybe even Half-Life 2: Episode 3 coming they really have their work cut out. Let’s hope they can deliver.
“I can guarantee you people are going to be surprised at stuff we do,” Valve’s Gabe Newell told PC gamer in an interview.
