Carrier Unlock for iOS 4.2 Expects Release Soon

By | November 3rd, 2010

The iPhone iOS 4.2 entered Gold Master stage just a few days ago with it’s jailbreak already available. However it is not possible to unlock iOS 4.1 or iOS 4.2 devices with baseband 05.14.02 or later. MuscleNerd, one of the members of iPhone Dev team has announced that users can expect the new version of ultrasn0w capable of unlocking the new baseband with-in days of the public release.

The iPhone 4, 3GS and 3G are suffering from lack of support for unlock since the release of iOS 4.1 along with baseband 04.15.02 two months back. However Sherif Hashim, one of the main contributors announced the successful unlock for the new devices a few weeks back. However the iPhone Dev Team is holding the update until the public release of firmware 4.2 to avoid it being patched again by Apple.

Since the release of Gold Master version of the new firmware, the iDevices users across the globe which rely on unlock sense their wait almost ending. The final version of the new baseband is expected to drop with a week’s time. However it is advised not to update to the new firmware unless an unlock for all the basebands is possible.

Stay in touch to catch the whole unlock procedure as soon as it is released.
