Even when you’re getting 1GHz clock speed on a mobile processor, the desire to overclock always remains in the heart of every geek. If you’re a phone freak, I’m sure you would have shuffled through the code files to somehow overclock your device. To make such people out of their misery Unstable Apps has come out with an Android application that can overclock Droid X and Droid 2 phone.

The app gives you easy-to-choose five different options; playing with the voltage and the clock speed of your Droid processor. It allows you to push the limits up to 1.3GHz at 6.6V (but no more, seriously you wanna burn out your device?). Although I never met a single Droid user who felt the need to overclock his phone, still playing with actual hardware is always fun. You need to have at least Android version 2.2 to run this app. They app (DX/D2 Overclocker) is available in Android market for $0.99
