Lenovo S2109 quietly goes on sale

By | July 24th, 2012

Announced in May 2012, the Lenovo S2109 features a 9.7 inch multitouch touchscreen and a beautiful UNIBODY design. The device is set to run Android 4.0 Ice cream sandwich, although not the latest but there are still devices out there that are still not blessed by it.

This device is set to be a tablet with add-on keyboard, much like the ASUS transformer or the prime. The attachment will include a USB port, a SD card slot and a track pad plus the dock which gives an additional 9 hours of battery life. Other features include:

1)      1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon APQ8060A

2)      Rear 5-megapixel camera, From 1.3 HD camera

3)      1280 x 800 pixels 9.7 inch screen

4)      1 GB RAM

5)      8gb and 16gb variants

6)      Broadcom 11b/g/n Wi-Fi wireless

7)      Micro HDMI out

These are official the specifications released by Lenovo. The prices are tempting as well, although 8GB model is worth 389$ Lenovo is selling it at 311$. Same is the case with the 16GB version which was scheduled to be sold at 449$ is listed at 351$.  We think the reason behind these prices is rather popular Nexus 7!. With the optimum pricing and good specs the Lenovo S2109 seems a good option, but does it really compares up to the 199$ Nexus 7? Is the price right enough for it to take a place in the market? We guess only the time will tell.
