In a press release, Microsoft has announced a big milestone hit by Kinect in the history of consumer electronics device sales. According to Microsoft, they have shipped the 10 millionth Kinect sensor breaking the record of any other consumer device to date. This accomplishment is also backed by 10 million standalone games sold for Kinect.
Although Apple has shipped over 100 million iPhone and 15 million iPad to date but they have a sale duration of four years and nine months in order. With Microsoft, the 10 million Kinect sales came in just five months. Kinect was officially released on November 4, 2010 and reached 10 million mark on March 9, 2011.
