Hercules announces eCAFE HD netbooks with updated specs, HD display

Hercules announced two variants of the upgraded eCAFE netbook, both feature a 10.1 inch LED HD display. The eCAFE slim HD offers the lightest and slimmest design to be offered in a netbook while the eCAFE Ex HD offers 13 hours of battery time which is the longest battery time of any netbook on the market today.

According to the manufacturer’s numbers, it takes only 4 seconds to wake up from standby mode which is perfect for the on-the-go user. A Microsoft Office compatible Office suite comes preinstalled as well a combined social networking application. It is also equipped with a 0.3 Megapixel webcam. On the raised edges it features touch screen multimedia controls.

Coming to the hardware, it boasts an ARM Cortex A8 processor which runs the Linux Hercules eCAFE Netbook Edition operating system. It offers 8-16 GB memory onboard and an additional 50GB memory online. It has 3 USB ports, a built in microphone and a card reader. It comes in two colors, White and Black and will be available this month for  $229 for the eCAFE  Slim HD and $ 269 for the eCAFE HD Ex.  For more information, see the official Product Page.
