Acer Aspire AS5740-5513 Review

By | February 16th, 2010

Intel Core i3 based notebooks are hot these days and Acer has managed to shelf their Aspire AS5740 notebook having core i3 330M processor. I must praise that 330M model of core i3 was released on January 7, 2010 and Acer managed to put that in their notebook in no time. Core i3 is indeed a core i7 and core i5 equivalent for notebooks. It’s based on newer and better 32nm chip than core i7. The processor is clocked at 2.13 GHz having two cores and a 3 MB of smart cache. The 330M processor is ideal for notebooks, at maximum load/performance it draws only 35 Watt of power.

Moreover, this netbook comes with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and built-in Intel GMA capable of playing full HD videos. The machine weighs about 6 lbs and the 6 cell battery promises a battery life of 4 hours.

In a nutshell, the laptop is fully capable of performing any task, unless you are a gamer. The high end core i3 processor along with 4 GB of DDR3 RAM makes this an ultimate machine at an affordable price of $630. I give my 100% approval to this laptop, it is worth buying. It’s available for purchase at Newegg. (don’t forget to take a look at the complete specs)
